Canteen Information

ONLINE ORDERING: Umina Beach Public School uses the My School Connect online ordering platform for all canteen orders. Please download the app or visit the website, set up your account, and familiarise yourself with the process to ensure a smooth ordering experience. It is important to complete the whole process and always confirm payment. If the order is not complete or unpaid, there will be no lunch order available for your child, as it will not appear in our system. Please pay close attention to the date you are ordering for and whether it is for lunch or recess. Avoiding simple mistakes ensures your child receives their correct lunch.

LUNCH: If your child has a lunch order, it is prepared and placed in their class basket. Students then collect the basket and take it to their classroom to be eaten. Lunch is our first break, and it starts at 11:15 a.m. and ends at 11:55 a.m.

RECESS: If your child has a recess order, again, this will be placed in the class lunch basket, collected by students and taken back to the classroom to be eaten. Recess is our second break and starts at 2:00 pm and finishes at 2:30 pm. Most items, including hot meal's are available at recess.

COLD AND FROZEN ITEMS: If your child has ordered a cold drink or frozen treat either online or over the counter, they will need to collect this item from the canteen during their break. Simply bring your lunch bag showing the (highlighted) item to the canteen counter to receive your ordered item. There is a dedicated line for the collection of these orders that is clearly signposted.

*Please always remind your children that they have a lunch or recess order that day. Forgotten orders may not always find their owners. Uncollected non-perishable orders will be put into class baskets the following day.

CANCELLING ORDERS: If your child is sick, on an excursion or not at school, their order must be cancelled by 9.30 AM to ensure a full refund to your My School Connect account. Please phone or email the school to cancel an order.

PAYMENT: The easiest way to order is through the My School Connect app. Orders close promptly at 8:30 am each day. Orders can be made in advance,and regular recurring orders can be set up. We gladly accept over-the-counter orders with cash or EFTPOS (adults only) until 9:15 am each day. Unfortunately, we can not accommodate phone orders, email orders or IOUs.

*Our canteen staff can not attend to phone or email enquiries between the hours of 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Please keep this in mind when making contact with our team.

FORGOTTEN LUNCHES: If you or your child have forgotten to pack or take their lunch, orders can be placed with the canteen until 9.30 am. After 9.30 am you will be transferred to the school reception area, which will arrange a basic lunch for your child outside of the canteen.

*If your child's ordered lunch does not show up as expected ask them to let the canteen staff know straight away - they will endeavour to help them locate their lunch as fast as possible.
