Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.
Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.

Technology is an important and effective tool for learning. To help support students in its use, this section provides information about the tools and services used at our school. Simply use the menu to the left for information about our BYOD program, Google Classroom sign in instructions and our XO laptop program.
For further information regarding technology, please see your child's classroom teacher or Mr Marek Svihla.
World book online
Umina Public School has just purchased a subscription to Worldbook Online. This allows students to access age-appropriate information easily either at school, or at home.
It includes an encyclopedia, videos, images and activities. It is hoped students can make use of this fantastic resource on any of their digital devices.
