Our policies and procedures

Our policies and procedures help families understand how our school works. Our annual report and school plan show what we’ve done and how we’re improving each year. Our policies are aligned to NSW DoE policies and address important aspects of school such as attendance, behaviour expectations, communication processes and how we respond to your concerns.

We are currently updating our Policies and Processes page following the recent launch of our new school website. This page will continue to grow as we add additional documents, ensuring that all important information is easy to access for our school community.

If there is a particular document you would like to view, or if you are searching for specific information, please contact our school administration team via email, and we will make sure you receive the information you need promptly. We appreciate your patience as we continue to enhance this resource and make it as useful as possible for families.

School behaviour support and management plan

School Behaviour Support and Management Plan

Our school has a school behaviour support and management plan (SBSMP). The SBSMP helps us create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for all students. It sets clear expectations for student behaviour. This includes how we respond to bullying and cyberbullying. We work together with our school community to shape the plan and review it each year.

School annual report

Our School Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the school’s achievements, programs, and progress. Although it is published in 2026, the report reflects and reports on the previous year, sharing important information about student learning outcomes, school initiatives, and achievements in academic, creative, social-emotional and physical domains. It also includes insights into student wellbeing, school finances, community involvement, and future goals.

The Annual Report is a key way for the school to share progress and celebrate successes with our students, families, and the wider community, ensuring transparency and helping everyone understand how we continue to provide a high-quality learning environment for our students and community. Our report includes:

  • what we’re doing well and where we’re improving
  • student achievement and academic progress
  • our school vision and goals
  • key highlights and milestones
  • challenges we’ve faced and how we’re addressing them.

School excellence plan

Our school excellence plan (SEP) is a working document that shows our priorities in learning, teaching and leading. It explains our focus areas for improvement and how we plan to get there. We write our SEP with help from our school community so it reflects our shared priorities.

At Umina Beach Public School, we believe that a school plan is not just a document for staff—it is a roadmap for our entire community. Communicating our school plan with students, parents, carers, and the wider community is essential because it ensures everyone understands our shared priorities, goals, and initiatives. When families and students know what we are focusing on, they can actively engage, support, and celebrate our collective achievements.

To make this information accessible, we have worked to condense the three strategic directions of our school plan into a single-page summary. This summary highlights the key priorities, initiatives, and focus areas of our team, providing a clear and easy-to-understand guide for families. By simplifying the plan in this way, we aim to strengthen transparency, foster shared understanding, and empower our community to actively participate in supporting the learning, wellbeing, and success of all students at Umina Beach Public School.

We look forward to sharing more details of our school plan with our P&C through regular meetings across the year.
